Hello friends- Steph here.
In case you didn’t know, I’m working from Paris this week. It’s wild to be sitting about 20 minutes from Le Tour Eiffel or the Seine and be writing a blog post.
Thoughts of ‘This is my life?!?!” and also “Wait, I’m inside writing a blog post and all of Paris is right outside waiting for me but I’m working….!?” are whirling through my head. Mostly I’m excited to be here and I know it’s just the beginning of me working while away in some of my favorite cities. So, I’m not going to get stressed about it. Like, I’m super lucky that I get to do this (but of course business is always threatening to steal my happiness and also that’s why we’re hosting Creative Conversations, too).
Something that I always love to check out is the fashion when I’m in other countries or cities and Paris in particular.
In prep for Fall Flea [ Sept 21 + 22 ] I’m chronicling what I’m finding and helping you find it at the market with the expert styling and curation help of my friend and stylist Nikki Lopresti. We’re both obsessed with secondhand / vintage and small-scale brands and we’d love to show you how you can add some pretty versatile and of-the-moment styles to your wardrobe without shopping fast fashion brands.
You can watch us the morning of Saturday’s market from about 11am on our Flea Instagram Stories as we pass through the marketing finding the items that we’ll need to recreate what I saw on the streets of Paris (and Antibes because I was there, too!).
First, the logistics.
Fall Flea is September 21 + 22 at Tyler Village. It’s our last outdoor market of the entire season and you won’t want to miss it. We’re hosting it on the first 2 days of Fall so it’s perfect timing to grab some seasonal favorites from our stellar set of vendors in preparation for a fashionable few months ahead.
Here’s what I’m seeing a lot of in Paris right now.
short (cute) socks with low-ish heels
cropped wide-leg / straight-leg pants
baggy, wide-wale sweaters, baggy sleeves, rolled up, tucked in the front into pants / skirt
long pleated skirts
cropped shirts with high-waisted mini skirts
tailored suits with sophisticated shoes (and no socks)
oversized blazers + overcoats
flowy dresses with tiny patterns, worn with tennis shoes
Get yourself ready for a fashionable Fall, all in a sustainable way by shopping local, small and secondhand!
