WHY WE BEGAN EVENT PREP COACHING
Too many of you put off the proper thinking, planning and preparing that should be done to get the most value out of an event - especially our event. What this does to us is put the success of our entire market in jeopardy. Shoppers are coming to see YOU.
What should we do when so many of you show up without the proper tent weights or tents or charged devices or square devices or cash boxes or ice or parking passes or permits?
What should we REALLY do?
In years past, we’ve helped you solve these issues during event week or worse yet on event day. Because we want you to make money. We want our shoppers to get what they promised.
So, why does that suck for us? It makes your emergency our emergency at a really bad time. We already have a giant task of our own- setting up our market. Setting up our own shop. And cafe. And bar. And barriers. And doing it all in the hours between 8pm and 6am while that the parking lot is ours. We’re busy trying to set up a safe and fun market experience for our shoppers. We want them to come back each and every time. And that has A LOT to do with us. If we can’t get to what we’re supposed to do it will diminish the guest experience.
In effect, you hand over your adult business owner responsibility to us.
And that is not fair.
We all understand that shit happens. That you forget stuff. None of us is perfect. But we’re here to help you maximize your market days. And that begins many weeks (and even months) before market day.
Going forward, because we have created this program just for you, if you are unprepared on the day of the flea in the ways we’re working hard to get you prepared - with permitting or ice or chargers or cash or proper tent weights– we will not be able to help you with these things. There are just too many of you and too few of us. And if we’re working to keep event costs down - this is one HUGE way that you can contribute. Time is money. And if we’re not setting up what we need to, we have to hire people to help us do that.
This might seem harsh to you. We understand that you could feel that way so that’s precisely why we took a ton of time and energy and created this program - to be your partners in event prep so that you roll into event days with confidence, clarity and ready to sell.
But our focus on event days is to keep 10,000 people safe and entertained. Not solve a crisis for you that you could have solved yourself so much sooner.
In other words, we love you–but no.
We’re busy attending to the needs of YOUR shoppers who have no contract with us and who lovingly show up on event days FOR YOU.
Let us focus on them. Please.
SO, WHO CAN HELP YOU?
Our day-of-event crew, #TeamFlea will be on hand to help you with carry things, setting up your tent, grabbing you water, answering questions and in general are there for those of you who don’t have anyone helping you OR those first-timers where all things are new and we totally understand that you’d have some questions.
Our event team has been trained to be thoughtful, helpful, kind, caring and knowledgeable. You’ll be sent a guide to who they are and how to find them and what they can help you with. Trust us - they will make you smile and get your market day off to the right start.
We know that market days our tough - we probably have the toughest market day of all of us. We’ll be sharing more of our own behind-the-scenes so you have more insight into our own lives in the hopes that we’re all on the same page- and on the same team - on market days.
Remember - we DO love you. We just need you prepared. And it’s precisely because we love you that we’ve created this program for you.
